How To Draw A Crane: All Steps

In this lesson, we will begin with a new piece of paper and learn how to draw a crane in no time. It is best to consider the proportions of each of the drawn parts of the crane.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

Outline The Head

Begin your drawing by making a small semicircle on the upper part of your paper.
Draw The Beak And Eyes

Create the bird's long beak on the left side of the circle. Then add the eyes inside the bird's head.
Add The Neck

Draw the neck by having a curvy shorter line on the right and a longer curvy line on the left like in the demonstration.
Draw The Wing

The Crane has a long and narrow wing. Make the wings longer as it reaches down to the tail.
Add The Lower Body And The Feet

The crane's body hides beneath its wings so you draw its small body just below it. Then, draw the legs and the feet with long slender shapes.
Complete The Drawing

The whooping crane is white in nature and has a red spot on its head. Do not be afraid to create shadows and highlights to make the wings stand out.
